About Skill Scout

Skill Scout is a free guide for people starting out with Claude. There are hundreds of skills, agents and plugins for Claude Code, and it’s hard to know which one fits your project, where to get it or how to install it. This site answers those three questions in plain English.

Who makes it

It’s made by the makers of freehtmleditor.net, a free online HTML editor. Many of our visitors are building their first website, and more and more of them are doing it with AI. This guide is for them.

How the tools are chosen

Every one of the 300 tools listed is one we’ve installed ourselves. For each one we looked up where it’s published and checked the install steps against the official documentation. Tools, prices and install steps were last checked in October 2026. Things change quickly, so if a step no longer works, the tool’s GitHub page has the latest instructions.

This is an independent guide. It isn’t made, endorsed or checked by Anthropic, the company behind Claude. Claude and Claude Code are Anthropic’s products; the other tools belong to their authors, linked on each tool’s page.
