Your first project: build a landing page with Claude

20 min read · Checked October 2026

Build and publish a one-page website for a small business, step by step.

In this project you’ll build a one-page website for a small business, using Claude Code and the frontend-design skill. It takes about 20 minutes. You’ll need Claude Code installed (see the first tutorial).

Set up

1

Make a project folder and start Claude Code

Make a new folder called landing-page, open it in the Terminal with cd, then run:

claude
2

Install the frontend-design skill

Inside Claude Code, type:

/plugin install frontend-design@claude-plugins-official

Confirm in the panel that opens.

Build the page

3

Describe what you want

Be specific about the business, the audience and the feeling you want. Claude does much better with real details than with “make a website”. For example:

Use the frontend-design skill to build a one-page website for Rosa's Bakery, a family bakery in Lisbon. Sections: hero with a short welcome, our breads, opening hours, and how to find us. Warm and handmade feel, not corporate. Save it as index.html.
4

Let it work, then open the page

Claude asks before creating files; say yes. When it’s done, find index.html in your folder and double-click it to open it in your browser.

5

Ask for changes in plain English

Look at the page and ask for what you’d change, one or two things at a time:

Make the opening hours easier to read on a phone, and use a softer cream background.

Refresh the browser after each change to see it.

Put it online

6

Publish it

When you’re happy, the deploy-to-vercel skill can put it online for free and give you a link. Or upload index.html to any web host you already use.
